After a day of pampering, guests can enjoy a movie in the home cinema, which comes complete with big screen, projector and sound system.
THORNYCROFT LODGE is an idyllic choice for conferences, weddings and other special events.
The newly built Conference Centre, equipped with up-to-date technology, can seat 150 guests. The centre caters for corporate functions, seminars, workshops and brainstorming sessions, as well as up-market weddings, end of year events and formal get-togethers.
The Conference Centre is isolated from the rest of the Lodge, giving clients the seclusion needed for those special occasions.
This beautiful hall leads on to an adjacent large patio with large separate bar area, braai facilities, bonfire pit and ablutions.
For the client looking for a more intimate and relaxed venue, the poolside lapa is the perfect setting. Complete with beautifully lit bar, wooden dance floor, big screen and projector, excellent sound system (complete with karaoke), darts and pool table, the venue is ideal for a fun filled party.
This open plan entertainment area, with thatched roof and removable canvas sails, has its own fully equipped bar with big undercounter fridge and separate kitchen as well as a built in gas braai.
It offers guests a relaxed environment conducive to a great social experience or a relaxed night-cap before bed.
The following features are available to operate THORNYCROFT LODGE efficiently and effectively:
A fully equipped, ergonomically-designed , spacious kitchen incorporating an adjacent pantry which has a full inventory of tableware, crockery and linen of the highest quality. The kitchen is equipped with gas powered stoves, electric fridges, fitted oven, microwave ovens, deep fryer and bain maries. Incorporated in the kitchen are ample working surfaces including hygienic stainless steel counters.
The dining room seats 24 people. Another big dining room, capable of seating 300 guests, is planned.
Behind the main Lodge, 28 more rooms are under construction. These rooms all have en-suite bathrooms and can sleep 3 guests per room.
Further down, very secluded and right next to the 2 dams, there is a camp consisting of three building with ablutions. These buildings can accommodate 80 guests in a camp-style manner, and are ideal for hosting groups such as schoolchildren, summer camps, churchgroups etc.
The reception area welcomes guests to THORNYCROFT LODGE in a relaxed and friendly manner. It is fully furnished with all major facilities needed to ensure the smooth running of the lodge.
THORNYCROFT LODGE has an excellent sanitary and electrical system. Electricity is supplied by Eskom and a complete backup generator system is in place. The lodge has an excellent rain water catch system and is equipped with 2 tanks. There are 2 dams and the river on the property from which to acquire water, each with tanks installed.
The laundry is equipped with 5 washing machines and is capable of handling all of THORNYCROFT LODGE`s needs at full capacity. A secluded, spacious, undercover drying yard is also available.
On the property there are 2 outside staff rooms, and one more under construction.

There are 17 undercover, secure parking bays within the fort-like structure of the lodge as well as additional parking bays outside.
There is also a separate workshop on the property.
The vacant land surrounding the THORNYCROFT LODGE building is teeming with potential for the investor. Currently undeveloped, the area is ideal for development of, for instance, fish farming etc.
The 12 hydroponic tunnels for growing vegetables that currently stand on the property can easily be restored.
Future developments could also include negotiated access, with first option to buy if it becomes available, to a private game reserve running adjacent to the river.
